"Living in rural central Virginia, the natural world heavily influences my work. Reading, writing poetry, and journaling, keep me in touch with my inner world. This combination has been generative for my art. While learned and well practiced methods predominate in the studio, there are days that I just enjoy experimenting with different materials, tools, and methods. New techniques for achieving desired imagery often arise from this experimentation."
